KCR Daughter K Kavitha Summoned By CBI

In the matter of excise policy of Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government, the CBI has asked Telangana Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter and MLC K. Kavita has been summoned. The CBI has asked him to appear for questioning on December 6. She has been given the freedom to come for questioning either at the CBI headquarters in Delhi or at the CBI office in Hyderabad, as per her convenience.

In the notice issued by the CBI to Kavita, it has been said that during the investigation of this case, some facts have come to the fore and you may be aware of it, so it is necessary to investigate such facts.

Responding to the notice, Kavita said that she has told the CBI officials that they can meet her at her residence in Hyderabad on December 6.

It has to be told that after the controversy, the Delhi government had withdrawn the excise policy. Earlier, Delhi’s LG Vinay Kumar Saxena had recommended a CBI inquiry into the matter. Some companies of Telangana are also on the radar of CBI in this case.

ED names involved in the investigation

The ED had on Wednesday arrested businessman Amit Arora in connection with the excise policy. Based on Amit Arora’s statements, the ED has claimed that Kavita was a key member of a group from the south and this group had bribed leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi to the tune of Rs 100 crore.

The ED has said that this bribe was given through Vijay Nair, in-charge of the communication department of the Aam Aadmi Party. Vijay Nair was also arrested in connection with the excise policy.

BJP had made allegations

In August this year, BJP leaders Parvesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa alleged that K. Kavita also had a role in the excise policy of the Kejriwal government. However, Kavita had brushed aside these allegations and said that she would file a defamation case in the matter.

The ED has said that Amit Arora has accepted during the investigation that this group from South is controlled by Sharath Reddy of Aurobindo Pharma, K. Kavitha and M. Srinivasulu Reddy. ED has also said that Kavita had changed her mobile phone 6 times between 2021 and 2022.

The ED has said that there are at least 36 accused or suspects in the case who had destroyed a total of 170 mobile phones. Out of this, ED has so far recovered 17 mobile phones.
