Khokon Chandra Das: Hindu businessman Khokon Chandra Das who was brutally attacked a few days back has succumbed to his injuries.
What Led To Khokon Chandra Das Death?
Das, who ran a pharmacy at Keurbhanga Bazar at Shariatpur district in Bangladesh, was attacked by miscreants on New Year Eve. The mob attacked him at 9 pm when Das was passing through Tiloi area. He was allegedly hit, stabbed using sharp weapons and set on hire after petrol was poured all over Das’s body. Fortunately, Das managed to jump into a nearby pond to survive the attack. However, he suffered life-threatening burn injuries due to the attack.
His wife Seema told reporters that one of the miscreants was known to her husband and therefore he was attacked to kill.

Damudya Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Rabiul Haque remarked that two attackers have been identified and efforts are made by police to nab them.
The attack against Das is the fourth case of targeted violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. These incidents started soon after the death of Bangladeshi student leader Osman Hadi. A few weeks back, Amrit Mondal was lynched to death while Dipu Chandra Das was killed in Bangladesh over false blasphemy charges.
