Koo

Recently, many Chinese apps like TikTok, PUBG Mobile and SheIn have been banned in India. This has encouraged many Indian app developers to come forward and make choices for foreign apps. In this episode, moving towards self-reliant India, the incomparable Radhakrishna and his team introduced the Koo app, which is being seen as an alternative to Twitter.

What is Koo?

It is being seen as the Indian alternative to twitter. This Indian micro-blogging website was developed by the incomparable Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawatka in March last year. Like Twitter, Koo is also a micro-blogging platform, where you can give your views and opinion on different issues. It also won the AatmaNirbhar App Innovation Challenge organized by the Government of India in August 2020.

Koo was launched last year by the incomparable Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidawat to give users an opportunity to speak up and connect with the Indian-language platform. It is available in many languages including Hindi, Telugu and Bengali. The Koo app is backed by former Infosys executive TV Mohandas Pai and raised $ 41 million last week from Axel, Kalari Capital, Bloom Ventures & Dream Incubator and Thrivanfour Capital. It was one of the winners of the self-reliance Innovation Challenge launched by the government last year.

This app is very similar to Twitter. In this, things can be posted, as well as photographs and videos can be attached. Apart from commenting on other posts, you can also follow them. In this, you get the option of three audio, video and text. Koo's logo features a yellow bird opposite the blue bird of Twitter.
