New Delhi: Chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Lalu Prasad Yadav met the former Samajwadi Party Chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav along with the latter’s son and the current party chief, Akhilesh Yadav and Lalu Yadav in New Delhi on Monday.

The meeting’s photograph was shared from the twitter handles of Akhilesh Yadav ad Lalu Yadav.

“Met the country’s senior most socialist friend Shri Mulayam Singhji and enquired about his wellbeing. We have common concerns and fight about farmers, inequality, the poor and the unemployed” tweeted Lalu Yadav.

Though the agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, both the Yadav families are indirect in-laws but also the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls are due in a few months.

“Mulayam Singh-ji had been unwell. Lalu Yadav visited to enquire about his health. It is natural that when two senior politicians of the country meet, politics will be discussed,” Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav told a news agency.

Lalu Yadav was granted bail after being in the prison for three years for cases linked to the Bihar fodded scam by Jharkhand High Court.

Akhilesh Yadav has been noticed saying that “he does not want an alliance with bigger parties in Uttar Pradesh, like Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) or the Congress”.
