Rajiv Kumar says, “An attempt is being made to create an atmosphere of doubt, one day we will tell everyone about it and will reveal how people are misled. Due to this, our voting is also affected because doubts arise in the minds of people about whether EVMs are correct or not, voting list is fine or not. Yesterday the Supreme Court answered all these but we will also answer one day.” He added, “Everywhere voting is going on peacefully. Peaceful voting is going on in Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.”

Election Commission Pledges Assembly Elections for Jammu and Kashmir

Regarding the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar declared, “Kashmiris deserve their own government and we will soon start the process of assembly elections.” It is notable that PM Modi made his statement about the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections earlier. It’s thought that Kashmir may hold assembly elections in August or September.

Rajya Sabha MP and senior lawyer Kapil Sibal had accused the Election Commission and said, “The logs of EVMs should be kept safe for three to four years. And we want the Supreme Court to direct the Election Commission to ensure that the logs of every phase of voting are kept safe before counting of votes. Direct to declare the records so that there are no discrepancies in the selection of candidates”.
