Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In its manifesto, the Trinamool Congress promised social measures including doorstep delivery of rations and free cooking cylinders for families below the poverty line. The party presented its manifesto for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on Wednesday. Additionally, the ruling party has pledged to discontinue the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and abolish the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Mamata Banerjee’s Allegations Against BJP
Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, claimed that the BJP has turned the entire nation into a “detention camp” and that if the opposition group INDIA takes power at the center, the CAA and NRC will be eliminated. “If Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to power” for a third term, she claimed, there will be “no democracy and elections.”

West Bengal’s Lok Sabha Election 2024 is slated to start on April 19 and run in seven phases till June 1. The state provides 42 members for the Lok Sabha, and on June 4 the election results are anticipated to be declared.
