Macchal Encounter: In a fierce exchange of gunfire in the Macchal sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday, Indian Army faced off against militants. The encounter resulted in injuries to five Indian Army soldiers, including a Major, and tragically, one soldier succumbed to his wounds, as reported by Defence officials.

The skirmish erupted at a forward post in Kamkari, Macchal Sector, along the Line of Control. During the intense battle, a Pakistani individual was reportedly killed.

Recent Spike in Terror Attacks in Jammu Region

The region has seen a disturbing increase in terror activities. Notable incidents include a recent attack on an army convoy in Kathua and ongoing encounters in Doda and Udhampur.
