Maharashtra extends lockdown-like restrictions by 15 days

Sanctions such as lockdown in Maharashtra have been extended until after June 1 due to the corona virus epidemic. Despite the decreasing corona cases in Maharashtra, the Uddhav Thackeray government of the state does not seem to be in any mood to relax.

State Health Minister Rajesh Tope gave this information on Friday. Tope said that as far as the lockdown is concerned, it has been extended for 15 days but guidelines related to it will be issued on June 1. He said that there will be no relaxation in those areas where the number of patients and the rate of infection is still high and there is a problem of getting beds in the hospital. Earlier, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had said that restrictions like lockdown due to corona virus in Maharashtra would be extended even after June 1.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Thursday by the state government’s cabinet to further increase the restrictions imposed from mid-April. Talking to the media, Tope said, “As far as the lockdown is concerned, it has been extended for 15 days but guidelines related to it will be issued on June 1.” He said that there will be no relaxation in those areas where the number of patients and the rate of infection is still high and there is a problem of getting beds in the hospital
