Maharashtra government has announced a weekend lockdown and night curfew

Corona virus has started to wreak havoc in the country. More than half of the total new cases coming to India are from Maharashtra alone. In such a situation, the Uddhav government of the state has tightened the rules to curb the Corona cases. The state government has announced a weekend lockdown and night curfew in Maharashtra.

NCP Minister Nawab Malik has said that in view of the huge surge in the number of corona infected patients in the state, the Maharashtra government has decided the weekend lockdown. In which from Friday 8 am to 7 am on Monday, the complete lockdown will remain in force. He further said that during this time essential services and transport including buses, trains, taxis and transport will be allowed.

Along with this, the state government has also increased the night curfew imposed. Night curfew will be imposed from 8 am to 7 am. A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on the breakers of government nuns. It is expected that this ban will remain in force till the last of April.

In view of increasing cases of corona virus, the state CM Uddhav Thackeray had announced a night curfew in the entire state from March 28 to the authorities. Nawab Malik said that along with the night curfew, section 144 will also be applicable. According to media reports, during the weekend lockdown, it will be prohibited to go to places like Garden, Beach (Seashore), Gateway of India.

Coronovirus cases are increasing rapidly in Mumbai and across Maharashtra. In view of this, several decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting of the state government today.

Sheikh said that strict rules will come into force from Monday. Night curfew will be imposed from 8 am to 7 am. Only essential services will be allowed. Restaurants will only be allowed to deliver food parcels. Movie theaters will remain closed. Also, in case of offices, employees will have to work from home.

The detailed SOP in this regard will be issued soon. According to the state health department, in Maharashtra, 49,447 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours and there have been 277 deaths. However, a total of 37,821 people have recovered from the disease in 24 hours in the state. The active number of COVID cases in the state is 4,01,172. With new deaths in the last 24 hours, the COVID death toll in Maharashtra has gone up to 55,656.
