Mangaluru Auto Blast: Terrorist conspiracy suspected

An auto rickshaw suddenly caught fire with an explosion in Mangaluru on Saturday. In this blast, the person sitting in the auto rickshaw was badly injured. Along with that the driver of the auto rickshaw is also injured. This was not a common blast, it was a terrorist conspiracy. The person riding in the auto rickshaw was carrying a pressure cooker, in which IED was fitted which exploded. The police along with the team of Central Investigation Agency is engaged in the investigation of the incident. The strings of this incident are linked to the terrorist attack.

Know the big things of this incident so far-

The passenger injured in the blast in the auto rickshaw is undergoing treatment in the hospital. He is not in a position to speak now. However, the police investigation so far has revealed that this is the work of a seditious terrorist organization. The Central Intelligence Agency has also come to Karnataka to investigate the matter. Along with them, the Karnataka Police is also involved in the investigation.

The Chief Minister of Karnataka has said that this could be a terrorist incident. He said that the passenger in the auto rickshaw was carrying a pressure cooker fitted with IED which exploded on the way and this incident happened. The investigation of the incident is going on as to where the person was going and in which conspiracy he was involved.

DGP Karnataka tweeted, “It is now confirmed…the blast was not accidental, but a terroristic conspiracy with the intention of causing grave harm. Karnataka State Police is probing it thoroughly with central agencies.”

A search has been conducted at the house of the man who was allegedly involved in the blast in an autorickshaw in Karnataka on Saturday. The person was carrying a pressure cooker in an auto rickshaw in which the blast took place. The name of that person is Shariq and currently Shariq is in the hospital and he is badly injured in the blast. He is not in a position to speak at the moment. Police said that preliminary investigation indicates that he has links with terrorist organizations.

State elections are due in the communally-affected coastal city of Mangaluru, 370 km from Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru, and the blast happened just months before the polls.

Police said that Shariq, a passenger in the auto-rickshaw, was carrying a low-intensity improvised explosive device or IED. A burnt pressure cooker fitted with batteries was found inside the vehicle. Sharik is not fit to give statement. The injured auto driver is also in the hospital.
