Tripura: On Wednesday, Governor SN Arya will appoint Manik Saha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to his second term as chief minister of Tripura. During the swearing-in event for Saha and his council of ministers, which will take place at the venerable Vivekananda Stadium, will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Federal Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and a number of other central dignitaries. Around 10.45 am, PM Modi is anticipated to arrive at the Agartala location.

PM would take part in the programme

“At the Vivekananda field, Manik Saha will take the oath of office for the second time as the state’s chief minister. The chief spokesperson for the BJP’s Tripura unit, Subrata Chakraborty, announced that the PM would take part in the programme. “In the past thirty years, no anti-Left government has held onto power in the northeastern state until now. We are hopeful that the BJP 2.0 administration would fulfil the wishes of the populace, according to Chakraborty. The Congress-TUJS established the government in the border state in 1988 after defeating the Left there, but it fell to the Communists in 1993.

Eight persons were hurt during the post-election rioting

On Thursday, the Tripura Assembly election results were made public. In the most recent Tripura assembly elections, the BJP gained 32 seats in the 60-member Assembly, but its ally IPFT (Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura) was only able to win one. On March 6, two hours after he had been chosen as leader at the joint BJP-IPFT legislative party meeting, Saha met the governor in Agartala. As the state’s 12th chief minister, the governor invited him to take the oath of office.
The Tripura Congress and the Left, meanwhile, have made the decision to skip the swearing-in event due to post-election violence. According to authorities, at least eight persons were hurt during the post-election rioting in Tripura on Saturday. The police had also stated that 20 people had been detained in relation to the post-election violent occurrences in the state.
