In a development that may signify improved inter-state cooperation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has met with Manipur CM, N Biren Singh in Imphal, the capital of Manipur. In the backdrop of these troubling times, the state government has initiated a massive recovery mission, recouping around 990 looted arms out of the reported 4,537. Additionally, joint security forces conducted combing operations in sensitive areas, resulting in the recovery of 22 more weapons.
DR Sapam Ranjan has highlighted the establishment of 349 relief camps across the state, and the deployment of 114 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces, underscoring the government's commitment to restoring peace.
