Youth Cong Workers stage protest over Manipur Violence, asks CM to resign

Manipur Violence:

Days after the violence in Manipur killed more than 120 people leaving many injured, the Congress Youth Workers stages protest in the city asking the Chief Minister to resign. Many Youth Congress workers assembled outside the Indian Youth Congress office in Central Delhi holding banners that read- ‘Mukhyamantri isteefa do’.

Cops detain several Cong Youth Workers

The Police force came and detained several Congress Workers . The Youth Congress Workers had earlier requested the Centre Government to take arms and ammunition from all the Militant Groups in Manipur. They have also requested the Central Government to increase the Relief package being given to the victims of the Manipur Violence. The city witnessed huge clashes on My 6th leaving many injured and more than 200 died.

Many Houses being torched by Protestors

The first case of violence was reported on May3rd after a Solidarity March was being held to protest against the Meiti Community’s demand for SC/ ST status. Meanwhile, a day after the blockade on the National Highway in kangpokpi is lifted, the house of the Kuki National Organization spokesperson was set on fire. There have been many instances of houses being torched by the protestors in the Manipur city every second day or the other.
