Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Hails Vande Mataram Spirit In 1st Telecast Of 2026, Talks About Unique Society Traditions Of Gujarat And J&K

Mann Ki Baat: In the first Mann ki Baat session of the year 2026, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a memory from January 2016 when the concept of Start-up India was launched by his government.

Modi remarked people doubted this concept back then but now the country has grown to become the third-largest start-up ecosystem in the world that says a lot about the capabilities and resilience of its citizens. The Indian PM remarked young entrepreneurs are today working in sectors such as nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, mobility, green hydrogen, space and semi-conductors.

Mann Ki Baat-PM Modi’s Vision

PM Modi remarked that every single Indian product should be synonymous with premium quality as India moves towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Modi paid his sincere tributes to the Indian Constitution and its founding fathers. He also highlighted National Voters’ Day that is celebrated on January 25 every year. Modi went on to remark that first-time voters should be celebrated by families and societies just like birthdays are celebrated.

The Prime Minister also talked about the unique concept of “bhajan clubbing” among young Indians where devotional singing is performed by youth of the country in concert-like environment.

PM Modi also talked about Vande Mataram, the Indian national song that is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The PM also talked of the country’s strength that lies deeply in its deep-rooted and rich community living traditions, collective responsibility and family values.

Modi shares a unique practice of the Chandanki village in Beharaji, Gujarat where a community kitchen has been preparing meals for everyone in the village for the last 15 years. He also cited the example of Sheikhgund village in Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir where Mir Jafar singlehandedly addressed the growing menace of drugs, tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol.
