Meerut: On October 19, a BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) student from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut committed suicide after falling from the fourth floor of her institution in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Accused gave her a public slap after she rebuffed his advances
Siddharth Panwar, a classmate of Vania Asad Sheikh, 22, is accused of harassing her both verbally and physically. He gave her a public slap after she rebuffed his advances.
Vania jumped from the fourth floor of the college out of embarrassment and fear. She was taken to the hospital right away but tragically passed away on Friday from her wounds.

Police have filed a formal report (FIR) against Siddharth based on a complaint made by Vania’s father. According to Rajesh Kumar Kamboj, Station House Officer (SHO) of the nearby Jani police station, the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
