In a move to further digitize and empower India’s public distribution system (PDS), the Department of Food and Public Distribution has rolled out ‘Mera Ration App 2.0’, a new and improved version of its earlier app, allowing users greater freedom and transparency in accessing subsidized food grains under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY).
Take Ration From Anywhere in India, Check Every Transaction
With Mera Ration App 2.0, beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and One Nation, One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme can now take their ration from any Fair Price Shop (FPS) across the country — a significant relief for migrant workers, students, and families on the move.
The app enables users to:
View a complete digital transaction history of their ration allotments.
Update important details such as family members and contact information directly through the app.
Track their ration entitlement, delivery status, and FPS location with ease.
The app promotes a digital ration card ecosystem, ensuring paperless, error-free and corruption-free delivery of food grains under central government schemes. It is now available for download on the Google Play Store.
Empowering the Beneficiary, Simplifying Distribution
Officials from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution highlighted that Mera Ration App 2.0 represents a key milestone in the ongoing effort to digitally transform India's ration system. It aims to make ration distribution more transparent, user-centric, and portable — especially important as the government continues to focus on food security and tech-driven governance.
This upgrade is part of the broader celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, aligning with the Centre’s efforts to make governance more participatory and accessible.
With just a smartphone and Aadhaar-based authentication, users can now claim their food rights with dignity — anytime, anywhere in India.
