MHA Issues Alert to States Ahead of Hanuman Jayanti, Calls for Maintaining Law and Order

Hanuman Jayanti 2023: The Home Ministry requested all states and union territories to maintain peace and order ahead of Hanuman Jayanti on Wednesday. According to PTI, the Centre has requested the states to observe the holiday peacefully and to watch any element that may disrupt communal harmony in society. After communal violence in many areas of the country during the Ram Navami procession last week on March 30, the Union Home Ministry issued an advice to all states and union territories. Hanuman Janmotsav is on 6th April, 2023.

Stones were thrown at a Shobha Yatra held on the occasion of Ram Navami

Violence interrupted the Ram Navami celebrations in various states on March 30. On Ram Navami, several vehicles were set on fire and shops were looted in West Bengal's Howrah district. According to PTI, a police officer stated that the incident occurred while the procession was moving through the Kazipara neighbourhood. Stones were thrown at a Shobha Yatra held on the occasion of Ram Navami in Gujarat's Vadodara district on Thursday. A video of the event shows some miscreants throwing stones at the Ram Navami procession from rooftops. The police are seen attempting to control the incident.

Mob also set fire to many public and police cars outside the temple

Maharashtra is a state in India. On Wednesday night, two guys got into a brawl outside a Ram temple in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar's Kiradpura locality of Maharashtra's Aurangabad district. The situation deteriorated as additional people arrived and began throwing stones at each other, according to police, who added that the mob also set fire to many public and police cars outside the temple.
