“Instead of standing with us, why are so many Europeans sitting on the fence?” Akbar asked, questioning the moral clarity of some European actors. He highlighted that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, has projected a "very powerful message across the world" — one that resonates because it is rooted in values and clarity.
He added, “The age of two laws is over,” referring to the perceived double standards in international politics. Akbar called upon India's European allies to recognize the gravity of current geopolitical challenges and not be “found wanting” in moments of critical importance.
The speech is being seen as part of India’s broader diplomatic push to solidify its strategic partnerships, especially as global alignments continue to shift.
Akbar asserted that India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has delivered a powerful global message — one rooted in values and clarity. “The age of two laws is over,” he said, criticizing the selective approach often seen in international diplomacy. He urged Europe to uphold democratic principles and not be "found wanting" during critical moments.
Akbar’s remarks come amid growing calls from Indian leadership for a unified global stance against terrorism and double standards in global politics.
