Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, has declared a momentous relief capital of 1066.80 crores of rupees in six Indian states that were badly hit by floods and landslides as of late. The aid has been sanctioned in the central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and will be of benefit to the states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala, and Uttarakhand.

Bowing to states in all circumstances, Amit Shah reiterated the intentions of the current Modi government to remain with them through and through. His word was not only about financial support but also complete logistical support to respond to disasters in a short time.

₹8000+ Crore Disbursed to 19 States in 2024 Alone

On declaring this relief, Amit Shah also pointed out that so far in the year, an amount of more than 8000 crores had already been disbursed to 19 states in India out of the SDRF and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).

Such a massive outlay indicates the strong and comprehensive disaster management process by the Centre. Whether it is a petty weather hiccup or a catastrophic natural disaster, the Modi administration has been driven home with the idea that timely relief and cooperation are at the top of its list of priorities.

Such funds not only enable state governments to finance immediate rescue and relief efforts but also provisions of post-disaster recovery, comprising infrastructure rebuilding, replenishing of livelihoods, and sustenance of victims.

Full-Scale Logistical Support: NDRF, Army & Air Force Deployed

Amit Shah mentioned that the reaction does not involve monetary actions. NDRF teams, the army, and the Indian Air Force have been at the forefront of helping in evacuation, supply delivery, and medical help as per the integrated disaster management strategy of the government.

This quick and on-the-ground assistance is a testament to the mission of the government to make sure that there is no geographical location that would be struck by disaster without the assistance of another area. The objective is to achieve resilience, minimize loss of life, and have a recovery that will go much faster due to coordinated national action.
