The counting of votes was completed in the by-elections held in 5 seats of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. In the final results, the Aam Aadmi Party has won four seats. At the same time, Congress has the edge on one seat. This time BJP's account is also not open. Mangalopuri, Shalimar Bagh North, Trilokpuri and Rohini Sea Ward have won AAP candidates. At the same time, Congress candidate has got success in Chauhan Bangar ward. The by-elections were held in these seats on February 28 and more than 50 percent of the vote was recorded. Out of these 5 seats, 4 seats were also in the account of the Aam Aadmi Party and one seat was with the BJP.
Aam Aadmi Party leads in ward number 32N, (Rohini-C), ward number 02-E (Trilokpuri), ward number 08-E (Kalyanpuri) and ward number 62N, (Shalimar Bagh North). Whereas, Congress was ahead in ward number 41-E (Chauhan Bangar).
The Delhi Municipal Corporation by-election was considered a litmus test for the Aam Aadmi Party itself as well as the BJP. After the manner in which the Aam Aadmi Party has performed in the elections of municipal corporations and municipal elections in Gujarat, the strategists feel that it can challenge the BJP. The highest voting was held in Kalyanpuri ward on February 28, where 59.19 percent of the people used their vote. At the same time, the lowest voting was done in Shalimar Bagh ward, where only 43.23 percent of the votes were cast. In five by-elections, 50.86 percent of the people used their vote.
