Narendra Modi: After Jordanian Crown Prince, Ethiopian PM Turns Chauffeur For Modi, Drives Him After Conferring Country’s Top Civilian Award, Wins Hearts

Narendra Modi: Indian PM was conferred with the prestigious “The Great Honor Nishan of Ethiopia" and driven personally by his Ethiopian counterpart to an unscheduled visit to the Friendship Park and Science Museum.

Narendra Modi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was personally received and driven by Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed Ali, reflecting the warmth of bilateral ties.

Modi arrived in Addis Ababa after making a state visit to Jordan. Ali, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning leader, took the Indian PM to an unscheduled visit to the Friendship Park and Science Museum.

Highest Civilian Award Of Ethiopia

PM Modi received “The Great Honor Nishan of Ethiopia” and termed it a proud moment for India. Modi remarked it was a big honour for him to receive the award from one of the world’s most ancient civilizations.

Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said his is Modi’s 28th accolade by a foreign nation. Shah added this signifies the rising stature of Bharat in global diplomacy under his able leadership.

Modi remarked that the recognition by Ethiopia belongs to the countless Indians whose efforts, trust and contributions have strengthened and shaped the bilateral partnership. The Indian PM is the first global Head of State or Head of Government to receive this award.

State of Oman Next

PM Modi is on a state visit to Ethiopia for the second leg of this three-nation tour. After Ethiopia, he will visit the state of Oman on the invitation of the Head of State of the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.

The two countries will then sign the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

GV Srinivas, the Indian Ambassador to Oman, remarked both the friendly nations are and will keep doing the best to make the most of this agreement. The Ambassador also said the agreement is synergizing the vision of PM Modi of seeing as a developed nation by 2047.
