Narendra Modi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been bestowed with Oman’s highest state award.
Modi was conferred the Order of Oman, the Sultanate’s uniquely distinct civilian honour, by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
The award was given to Modi for his exemplary contributions to strengthening bilateral ties. PM Modi is on a two-day visit to Oman, the final leg of his three-nation tour that included Jordan and Ethiopia.

The ‘Order of Oman’ is the 29th highest civilian award to PM Modi from foreign nations, including recent honours such as Ethiopia’s Great Honour Nishan of Ethiopia and Kuwait’s Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer.
Modi’s visit to Muscat marks the 70th anniversary of India and Oman’s diplomatic relations, with both countries focusing on strengthening strategic partnership in trade, investment, energy, defense and culture.
