The National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken another step toward medical school admissions with the release of the NEET UG 2025 Provisional Answer Key. This step has been processed and is now located on the official website exams.nta.ac.in/NEET which has the candidate's OMR answer sheets and recorded responses.

Your Score - One Step Closer: Score Calculation

For the millions of students that got to take the test, this will be the first opportunity to calculate their estimated performance on the exam. Students can download the key by logging onto the site with their application number and date of birth, and this will allow them to compare their OMR answer sheet to the published key. Don't forget the scoring: every right answer is worth 4 marks, while every wrong answer is -1. Students will be able to use this information and this formula to come up with a very clear initial score.

Found a mistake? Challenge the Key!

Should the candidates believe they found a mistake, or an answer he/she does not agree with in the NEET UG 2025 Provisional Answer Key, the NTA has a process for challenging this answer. The candidates must file their objection online prior to 11:50 PM of June 5. Students that are challenging an answer will communicate their objection, as well necessary submission for payment of ₹200. The NTA will not review any claims without documentation validating the challenging claim by the student contestant. If a student contestant did not submit documentation it is not confirmed.

The Final Countdown: What is next?

It is important for all subject matter experts to review all objections/challenges of a certain answer, when the period for objection closes. If the objection is upheld the NTA will release a new Final Answer Key, which should be deemed by NTA and the final NEET UG 2025 results. This will also produce the merit list for all India. Candidates should save the proof of objection page for the time the final result is released.
