New COVID strain "out of control" in UK says Health Secretary Matt Hancock

UK health secretary Matt Hancock warns that the new strain of the coronavirus is “out of control” and parts of England will be stuck in the new, highest tier of restrictions until a vaccine is rolled out.

The British government has imposed lockdown in London and southeast England after the rising threat of COVID-19.

The health minister Matt Hancock has warned that the strict measures that affect almost a one-third of England's population could stay in place until the virus vaccine is fully rolled out.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Saturday that millions must cancel their Christmas plans and stay home because the new strain was spreading far more quickly.

Meanwhile the Indian government also put a halt on all the flights coming from UK.
