On the basis of the lead received from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Tuesday (today) the police and other agencies of 8 states have once again raided several locations of Popular Front of India (PFI) spread across the country.
According to preliminary information, it is being told as the raid of the second round. In the first round, NIA raided. The investigating agencies have arrested many members of PFI from different places. While some people have been detained. Action has been taken against PFI in many states including Delhi, UP, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh. Where paramilitary forces are patrolling in Shaheen Bagh. Sources said that more than 170 members of PFI have been detained from 8 states. At the same time, Section-144 has been implemented in Jamia of Delhi.
Delhi Police has arrested around 30 people. Late night, 30 people have been arrested after PFI raids at different locations in Delhi. ACP level officers of the Special Cell were in the control room. While about 100 personnel of the Special Cell were on the ground. Local Police Special Cell and Special Branch teams were involved in the raid.
Raids have been conducted in many areas including Shaheen Bagh, Jamia. A person named Shoaib has been detained from Shaheenbagh area. At the same time, the Jamia University administration has issued a circular to the students.
Section 144 will remain in force from September 19 to November 17. Students of Jamia University have been instructed not to gather in groups inside or outside the campus. It has been said in the circular that if anyone breaks the law, then the university will take strict action against him.
About 10 people associated with PFI have been detained in Lucknow. Helpers of PFI have been nabbed from Bakshi Talab, Itaunja as well as from the urban areas of Lucknow. Everyone is being questioned. All the suspects in Wasim and Majid’s network have been detained for questioning. Along with UP ATS, teams of UP STF are also making inquiries. ATS team has detained 1 cleric from Mohalla Choudharian in Sayana of Bulandshahr. ATS team has taken Maulvi along.
8-10 people have been detained in Ghaziabad. According to sources, raids have been conducted in 8 districts of Uttar Pradesh. There is also news of arrest of 2 active members of PFI from Sitapur.
One of the arrested person is being told of Khairabad police station area while the other is from Rampur Kala area. However, the local police have denied having any information in this regard.
Police in Karnataka took major action against PFI on Tuesday (today) morning. 25 people have been arrested in this. Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra said that more than 40 people have been picked up during the action. This number can go up to 60. We have a list of all those who created trouble during the NIA raids.
All the districts have been asked to be on alert. Because these days Navratri is going on. Police have been deployed everywhere. Goalpara Kamrup Barpeta, Dhubri, Bagsa, Darang Udalguri Karimganj have been done in Assam. Police detained PFI district president Abdul Karim and SDPI secretary Sheikh Masqsood.
At the same time, in Kolar district, the police have detained 6 members of PFI. While 4 members have been arrested from Bellary. On the other hand, Mangalore Police has also detained members of PFI and SDPI. 7 PFI leaders were detained from Nagarbera area of Kamrup district.
