No lockdown in Maharashtra, only essential services available for next 15 days

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today briefed press conference and announced many restriction in the state for the next 15 days. The restrictions includes ban on gathering and only essential services are available the public.

CM stated that these are important to tackle the rising COVID infection in the state. He also added that the virus is 'explodinh dangerously' in the state. "The war has begun again," he said, addressing people of the state on the unprecedented surge in Covid infections.

From tomorrow onwards, Section 144 will be imposed in the state where not more than four people will be allowed to gather at a time.

Mr Thackeray has also urged coorporates to impose Work from Home for few days like it was a year back. From 7 AM to 8 PM, only essential services will dunction; which include medical services, banks, media, and fuel points.

"Unfortunately I have to announce more restrictions. Now is the time for action. I am not saying a lockdown just now, but strict restrictions. I know bread and butter is important but saving lives is important," said the Chief Minister.

Maharashtra recorded 60,212 new cases and 281 COVID-19 deaths today, he declared.
