‘No Rest Until Justice is Served,’ Mahapanchayat Sends out a Powerful Message

Wrestlers Protest

Wrestlers Protest: The ultimate decision about the wrestlers’ protest will be made during a meeting in Haryana tomorrow, according to farmer leader Rakesh Tikait. The Haryanan farmers and khaps have been supporting the wrestlers, and the next step will be choosing the best course of action. The wrestlers will pursue every avenue, according to Tikait, who on Monday urged them not to throw their medals into the Ganga. If necessary, we’ll approach the President of India. At a large meeting in Muzaffarnagar today, he assured his crowd, “We are with you; you need not fear.”

Farmers and Khaps are supporting wrestlers

“I advised them to put the medals up for sale rather than submerge them in the Ganga. The entire globe will approach you and demand that you halt the sale, he said. In response to the question of why farmers and khaps are supporting wrestlers, Tikait stated, “It is excellent if the family is big.” “You ought to be aware of the actions taken by the central government. In Bihar, they destroyed Lalu Yadav’s family. Check out what they did to the Yadav family of Mulayam Singh. The same thing is taking place in Rajasthan, he informed the assembled farmers.

Wrestlers’ Protest Takes a New Turn

The wrestlers had left for Haridwar on Monday, a day after a severe crackdown on their protest by the Delhi Police, determined to dip their medals in the Ganga. However, they eventually refrained upon the intervention of Tikait, the head of the Bhartiya Kisan Union, and Haryana khap leaders. Since January, the wrestlers have been on the offensive, demanding that WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh be brought to justice for allegedly sexually harassing seven sportsmen, among them a kid. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a BJP lawmaker, has declared that if the accusations against him were verified, he would take any punishment. “If a single allegation against me is proven, I will hang myself. If you (wrestlers) have any evidence, present it to the Court, and I am ready to accept any punishment,” he said.

Administration Urges Wrestlers to Exercise Restraint Pending Police Investigation

In its initial statement on the situation yesterday, the administration cautioned the wrestlers against taking any hasty action and urged them to hold off until the police investigation was finished. “I’ll ask the athletes to hold off till the Delhi Police’s inquiry is over. The Supreme Court has been notified and a FIR (First Information Report) has been filed by the Delhi Police. Do not take any actions that may affect the sport or the athletes before the probe is finished,” the sports minister Anurag Thakur had said.
