On August 22 PM modi will be attending BRICS Summit in Johannesburg

Despite China’s attempts to dominate the BRICS summit, India and Brazil are going to stay to give back to this multilateral institution. Those who expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will follow Russian President Vladimir Putin and attend the summit virtually rather than physically are surprised by his decision to attend the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, from August 22–24.

It is crucial for PM Modi to visit South Africa since the country’s key allies, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, want to join the institution.

However much China seeks to rule the BRICS conference, India and Brazil still have a voice in this multilateral organisation.
