Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has upped his ante against centre over covid-19 management. The Congress leader has alleged that many deaths have been led by the shortage of Oxygen and ICU beds in the country.

Rahul Gandhi on Friday tweeted, "Corona can cause a fall in oxygen level but it's #OxygenShortage & lack of ICU beds which is causing many deaths. GOI, this is on you."

The Country is indeed operating under acute oxygen shortage with critically ill patients requiring oxygen as the second wave of novel coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the country.

Delhi has sent many Oxygen SOS alarms to Centre and on Friday, around 25 Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the hospital authority said on Friday. The Hospital on Thursday evening raised an alarm for immediate need of oxygen supply as over 140 critical patients admitted in the hospitals were on ventilators and on oxygen support.

"Ventilators and Bipap are not working effectively. Resorting to manual ventilation in ICUs and ED. Major Major crisis likely. Life of another 60 sickest patients at risk. Need urgent intervention," said Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, in a statement early morning on Friday.

However according to the latest reports, the hospital has received a fresh consignment of oxygen supply now.

Meanwhile, in yet another grim milestone, India on Friday reported highest number of daily new Covid-19 cases. A total of 3,32,730 Covid cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to health ministry data released on Friday.
