Parliament’s Monsoon Session commenced from Monday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s traditional address. The PM, in his speech, said that the members of Parliament have chosen to abide by their responsibility for the monsoon session.
Ahead of the session, the PM sent a strong message to Chian owing to the current situation at LAC. “We hope parliament and all members will unitedly send the message that the nation stands with our soldiers. Our soldiers are standing firm at the borders with a lot of courage, passion and strong resolve to protect their motherland. They are standing on difficult heights and in a few days, will weather snow. In the same manner, I am confident parliament will send a message, in one voice, that it stands firmly behind soldiers guarding our borders,” said the Prime Minister.
The Monsoon session consisting of 18 days will be the fourth session of 17th Lok Sabha and 252nd session of Rajya Sabha and have four-hour sessions for each house each day.
The session which usually begins in the mid July faced dealy due to covid-19 pandemic. Due to the safety protocols, the customary all -party meeting of the government was not held with zero hour being cut down to half an hour.
Addressing the media ahead of the monsoon session, the Prime Minister congratulated the MPs on chosing their path of virtue amid pandemic.“I congratulate them and express gratitude to them. This time Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be held at different times in a day. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday as well. And all the MPs have accepted this,” he said.
