Patna News: Days after the Khagaria Bridge collapse in Bihar, the state government has issued a show cause notice to the company involved in the construction. Meanwhile a group of petitioners have also filed a PIL in the Patna High Court demanding to ban the company. The Managing Director of the company was also served a show cause notice in the same case. The matter has been presented before the Patna High court through a Public Interest litigation.

Bihar CM blames ‘Poor work quality’
The Petitioners have also requested to blacklist the construction company. They have also urged the court to halt all the construction Projects. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav also said that a show cause notice has been sent to the construction company. The Deputy CM said that the bridge will be constructed in a time period as this is his dream project. This is the second incident of a bridge collapse . Last year in April also it experienced a similar plunge, yet no action had been taken against the construction company.
Govt likely to ban Construction Company
A Four lane concrete bridge built across the river ganga collapsed second time raising questions about the quality of the construction. Lot of people on the bank of the river ganga can be seen filming the bridge as it tumbles down. Atleast 30 slabs of pillars, measuring around 100 feet collapsed. The estimated cost of the bridge is around 1710 crore. The Loose cable stand was asserted to be the reason behind the collapse, where as a group of people blamed poor construction for the reason behind the incident. The bridge was projected to be completed by March 2020 but the completion had been delayed by over three years This bridge would be the sixth one across ganga to connect the Northern part of Bihar.
