Pawan Khera Urges President Murmu to Expand Focus Beyond Kolkata Rape Case, Says ‘Address Nationwide Women’s Safety Crisis’

Congressman Pawan Khera has called for a more comprehensive national reaction to the rise in crimes against women and has criticized President Droupadi Murmu for focusing on the most recent rape and murder case in Kolkata.

In her eloquent column released by PTI, Murmu stated, “Enough is enough.” She underscored that this is the time for India to crush the “perversion” of the women-related crime.

President Murmu Responds to Kolkata Rape Case

Murmu’s comments were made in reaction to the August 9th event that killed a trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. The President expressed her deep disappointment and shock over the heinous act of Kolkata Rape Case, stating that no advanced civilization can bear atrocities of its daughters and sisters. She writes the article with the title “Women’s Safety: Enough is Enough.”, it reflects a very strong position on the issue and it is more a standpoint of need for action to be taken for the protection of women.

Call for Nationwide Accountability and Justice

The President’s comments have caused a great stir across the political spectrum. Show courage to hold not only the opposition but also the ruling BJP and its double engine governments accountable.”
