The petitions of senior journalists N Ram and Shashi Kumar were placed before a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana by senior advocate Kapil Sibal and urged the court that it needs to be heard in view of the wider implications of the alleged espionage, to which the Chief Justice Agreeing to have a hearing next week.
The plea of senior journalists said that the alleged espionage is a hallmark of the efforts of agencies and organizations to suppress and discourage free expression of protest in India.
