“People Are Exposing Them”: Kangana Ranaut Slams CJP-Led Protest Against Gyanesh Kumar as Anti-National

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut alleged a conspiracy to destabilise the country while reacting to the Cockroach Janta Party's protest demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation. She also said ordinary people would now question those she called anti-national forces.

Kangana-Ranaut

Speaking in Lucknow on Saturday, Kangana Ranaut said people were “united and exposing anti-national forces” when asked about the CJP protest in Delhi. She added that people would now catch them and demand answers, not only the police. Another report quoted her as saying “anti-national and terrorist elements” have emerged as a serious concern for the country.

Remarks Made En Route to Ayodhya

Kangana Ranaut spoke after arriving in Lucknow on her way to Ayodhya, where she planned to offer prayers at the Ram temple. She said several forces were working to protect the country. She also stressed that care should be taken so citizens do not face inconvenience.

Why the CJP Is Protesting

The CJP, student unions and opposition parties are demanding Kumar’s resignation over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. They cited an Indian Express report that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi recorded objections at least 14 times. The Election Commission has rejected the allegations, and Kumar has not commented.

The Label Cuts Both Ways

The CJP itself has used the same word. Founder Abhijeet Dipke called Kumar the “biggest anti-national” at a September 24 press conference. He accused the CEC of deleting voters through the SIR for the BJP’s benefit, a claim the Election Commission rejects.

Not Her First Attack on the CJP

In July, Kangana Ranaut criticised CJP-led student protests over the NEET paper leak in Instagram posts. She said the protests were “puke-inducing,” and opposition leaders condemned her remarks. On July 20, she said the government could not be arm-twisted over whom to sack or retain.

What Next

The CJP has vowed to continue its agitation. Expect more political reactions as the protest enters its second day and the legal fallout of Saturday’s detentions unfolds.
