The physical verification process of families surveyed under Awas Plus-2024 of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) is set to begin soon, following directives issued by the government to ensure transparency and eligibility.
Physical Verification to Begin Under PM Awas Yojana
Special teams formed by the district administration will conduct door-to-door verification in every panchayat to assess the eligibility of beneficiaries included in the uploaded list. The verification will cover documents, current housing conditions, income status, and other prescribed eligibility criteria.
According to official data, 54,704 families were included in the Awas Plus-2024 survey conducted through the Awas Plus mobile application under PMAY-G. The government has now ordered physical verification of these families to identify and remove ineligible beneficiaries from the scheme.

Officials have clarified that the verification exercise will be carried out strictly in accordance with departmental guidelines and with complete transparency. Families found ineligible under any circumstances will not be granted benefits under the scheme, and their names will be removed from the list. A fresh list of eligible beneficiaries will then be prepared.
As per government instructions, a district-level committee under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate will be constituted to oversee the process. Subsequently, block-level teams will be formed, which will visit villages to conduct on-ground verification.
Project Director, DRDA, Ram Avtar Singh, stated that the physical verification under PM Awas Yojana (Gramin) Awas Plus-2024 will be carried out in all panchayats with full transparency and adherence to departmental norms, ensuring that only deserving families receive housing benefits.
The move aims to strengthen accountability in the implementation of PMAY-G and ensure that government housing assistance reaches the truly needy.
