The Government of India is set to reopen registrations for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2025, a nationwide initiative aimed at equipping the country’s youth with industry-relevant skills and hands-on experience. Launched with the vision of enhancing employability and practical training, the scheme has already witnessed massive interest in its earlier rounds.

Stipend and Financial Benefits
Interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000, split as follows:

₹500 from the host company, based on attendance and performance.
Additionally, a one-time grant of ₹6,000 is provided to cover initial setup and incidental expenses.
Growing Reach and Opportunities
The PM Internship Scheme aims to democratize access to professional training. With Phase 2 expanding to 327 companies and covering over 730 districts, the initiative focuses on Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, providing internships beyond urban centres.
According to recent data, more than 5 lakh candidates showed interest in the scheme’s first two phases. The government aims to scale this further to create employment-ready youth through real-world exposure.
