PM Modi congratulates Congress over Karnataka election win, thanks BJP workers for hardwork

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Congress on its victory in the Karnataka assembly elections and wished the party success in its mission to meet the expectations of the public.

The prime minister expressed his congratulations to the grand old party while stating that the BJP would continue to serve Karnataka with more zeal. “I thank all those who have supported us in the Karnataka elections. I appreciate the hardwork of BJP Karyakartas. We shall serve Karnataka with even more vigour in the times to come,” he further tweeted.

The prime minister’s tweet came shortly after Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader, attacked the BJP by claiming that “nafrat ka bazaar” had shut down and “mohabbat ki dukaanein” had opened in Karnataka.

According to the website of the Election Commission, as of 6 p.m., the Congress party has won 136 seats in Karnataka thus far and is in the lead by 4 seats. The election results showed that a number of BJP government incumbent ministers and the Assembly Speaker were defeated.
