On Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s birthday. PM Narendra Modi sent his warmest birthday wishes to Minister Amit Shah and praised his service to the country and his work to make it safer. The message, which was shared on social media, showed how friendly the two top BJP leaders are, which has been a big part of the party’s political plans for a long time.

“Happy birthday to Shri Amit Shah Ji, the Home Minister!” Many people respect him for how hard he works and how much he cares about helping others. “He has worked hard to make India’s internal security stronger,” PM Modi wrote, wishing him good health and a long life.

Amit Shah, who is known as the BJP’s “master strategist,” has been a key part of the party’s election victories over the last ten years. As the country gets ready for important elections in Bihar and West Bengal, political experts are paying close attention to how Shah might lead the BJP’s campaigns in both states.

Is the BJP likely to overcome anti-incumbency in Bihar?

The BJP has to contend with the risk of anti-incumbency in Bihar, having been engaged in coalition politics for several years, and mustering up its voter base that is holding out for some renewed level of standards. Early signals are showing that there is uncertainty in the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) state as well, which gives the BJP an advantage to fortify its base of support by amplifying the issues of development and governance.

During an election cycle inundated by organizational arrangements, Amit Shah’s commitment to managing the party at the booth level and his skills in revitalizing the party machinery at the local level could be useful. Although the environment remains foggy through the campaign, there is engagement amongst party cadre members that Shah may engage in focusing on organizing voters at the grassroots level, motivating youthful voters, or animating welfare narratives.  We will see how this fared, however, once the BJP checks whether it is able to operationalize its organizational influence into voter trust amidst changes to the fabric of the state.

What will happen in West Bengal? Can Shah change the state’s political course in 2026?

In 2026, Amit Shah may take the BJP’s assault on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress to the next level and on the state level too. In the 2021 assembly election, it garnered many more votes than other parties and became the principal opposition party.

Moving ahead, the BJP will likely try to reach out to bigger constituencies in rural areas and address important issues like employment, law and order, and important welfare programs, as well as the big target of BJP consolidation in the state. Shah’s plan could also include shifts in candidate selection processes and hotspots to enhance regional equity more seriously.

Despite the TMC still being in major stronghold positions at the local level, many commentators believe Shah’s methods and strategies can reorient the political terrain in Bengal, but we do not know if his changes will get him appointed to other elections.
