Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while launching the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’, called upon farmers to play a central role in building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by transforming the agricultural sector into a major pillar of national progress.

Addressing the nation during the event, PM Modi emphasized the need for deeper engagement between farmers and agricultural scientists. “This is a big pledge to make India's agriculture the main base for Viksit Bharat,” he stated, highlighting the mission's long-term vision to modernize and empower Indian farming.

PM Modi Encouraged Farmers

The Prime Minister encouraged farmers to actively interact with scientists who will soon be visiting villages as part of the campaign. “I want to tell the farmers to ask a lot of questions to the scientists who are about to reach your village,” he said, urging them to stay informed and adopt innovative practices.

Appeal To Farmers

He also appealed to both farmers and associated personnel to approach the mission with a spirit of national service rather than viewing it as a routine government initiative. “Do not consider the responsibility you are taking up as government work. You have to do this with a sense of service to the nation,” he stressed.

The 'Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan' aims to accelerate agricultural reforms, promote sustainable practices, and bridge the gap between research and grassroots implementation. The campaign is expected to involve a wide network of scientists, agricultural officers, and grassroots workers to directly engage with rural communities across India.

Experts believe this campaign could significantly impact rural development, improve productivity, and align agriculture with modern scientific and technological advancements
