Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for their speeches in Parliament during the ongoing debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor. In a post-ceremony, the social media giant X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter) the following:

"Mighty impressed by the speeches of Dr. S. Jaishankar and Shri Rajnath Singh in the Parliament. They provided learned and holistic overviews of India’s robust stance on combating terrorism as well as the accomplishments of Operation Sindoor. Proud of their lucidity and commitment."

Singh Emphasizes Military Precision in Operation Sindoor

In his address, Rajnath Singh emphasized the intentional and swift assessment of Operation Sindoor—a cross-border operation to counter terrorist activities in reaction to the April 22, 2023, attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians. He said the Indian armed forces paid attention to the intention in their effective strike at nine terror camps across the border. Singh reassured Parliament that India is ready to react again if challenged.

Jaishankar Outlines India's 5-Point Doctrine on Terror.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar delivered a speech that was noticeable for its clarity and firmness.  He set out a five-point doctrine that reoriented India's stance regarding cross-border terrorism and highlighted its implications. The five stipulations included are no negotiating with terror sponsors, no dual-track diplomacy, strike-back is an option, global diplomatic outreach, and direct accountability for the state that hosts the terror.

Jaishankar noted that only three countries disagreed with India's position at the United Nations.

Operation Sindoor: Short, Sharp and Strategic

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval previously articulated that Operation Sindoor was a "23-minute precision mission" that destroyed terrorist capability in Organizational form without any collateral damage from India's perspective. It is reported that the action killed over 100 terrorists before a ceasefire was put in place through Pakistan's DGMO channel (which India agreed to honour in order not to escalate the situation).

PM Modi Applauds Ministers and Parliament Debate

PM Modi's support came in the middle of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha conducting structured debates. The Prime Minister said the speeches "clearly reflected the strength of India’s commitment to protecting its citizens and to combating terrorism." He called on the legislators to recognize the bravery of the armed forces and the clarity of India's global diplomatic position.

Both houses of Parliament are now involved in unbroken debates on this matter. Modi's commendation of Singh and Jaishankar's comments provides a national unity in condemning terrorist acts, as well as a reaffirmation of India's messaging globally.
