Mumbai Police have arrested a man who allegedly posed as an official from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), along with another person who claimed to be his bodyguard and was carrying a gun.

The incident came to light after the two men allegedly used the identity of a senior government official to create an impression of having close links with the central government. Police began investigating their activities after receiving information about the suspicious claims.
Alleged Bodyguard Held With Gun
During the investigation, officers allegedly found that the man had been falsely presenting himself as a PMO official. The person accompanying him reportedly introduced himself as his security guard and was found carrying a firearm.
Police subsequently arrested both individuals and launched an investigation to determine whether they had used the alleged identities to gain access, influence or other benefits.
Authorities are also examining the source and legality of the firearm recovered from the alleged bodyguard. The accused are being questioned to establish the extent of their activities and whether anyone else was involved.
The case has raised concerns over individuals allegedly impersonating government officials and misusing the name of senior constitutional authorities for personal purposes.
