PM Modi: PM Modi Warns Against Congress, Alleges Plans for ‘Inheritance Tax’

PM Modi: Addressing a rally in Telangana’s Medak district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his criticism of the Congress party, alleging that if it were to come to power in the Lok Sabha elections, it would implement an ‘inheritance tax’ in India. Modi claimed that such a tax would entail seizing 55% of inherited wealth and redistributing it to others.

PM Modi Warns Against Congress, Alleges Plans for ‘Inheritance Tax’

The Prime Minister’s accusations were prompted by remarks made by Sam Pitroda, the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, who had described inheritance tax, as seen in some US states, as an “interesting idea.”

Modi also took aim at the Congress’s governance style

During the rally, Modi also took aim at the Congress’s governance style, outlining what he perceived as the party’s five political symbols: false promises, vote bank politics, support for mafia and criminals, dynastic politics, and corruption. This criticism came in apparent response to the five guarantees announced by the opposition party.

Turning his attention to the Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, PM Modi warned against the imposition of what he termed “RR tax,” alluding to Revanth Reddy. He cautioned that failure to address this tax would have dire economic consequences for the state.

In his address, Modi further accused both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress of exploiting Telangana, alleging a pattern of economic exploitation.

Additionally, PM Modi accused the Congress of engaging in vote bank politics in Telangana, claiming that the party prioritizes its vote bank over the interests of others. He asserted that efforts were being made to suppress certain festivals in the state, including the Ramnavami procession in Hyderabad, in order to appease the vote bank.

Modi’s remarks underscored the heightened political tensions as the Lok Sabha elections approach, with parties engaging in vigorous campaigning and trading accusations ahead of the polls.
