In June 2022, Dharamshala hosted the initial meeting of this kind of Chief Secretaries Conference.

The National Conference of Chief Secretaries will take place in Delhi on January 6 and 7.
According to the PMO, the conference’s basic premise is that cooperative federalism—in which central ministries and departments collaborate seamlessly with states—is a crucial foundation for the growth and advancement of the new India.

More than 200 persons, including Central Government representatives, Chief Secretaries, and other senior officials from all States and Union Territories, as well as subject matter specialists, will attend the conference. According to the PMO, it will set the foundation for teamwork in order to create a “Viksit Bharat” with a focus on inclusive human development, progress, and job creation.

The conference’s programme was chosen following thorough discussion in more than 150 physical and online consultation meetings held over the course of the last three months amongst nodal Ministries, NITI Aayog, States/UTs, and subject matter experts.
