PM Modi To Invite Indian Olympics Contingent To Red Fort On August 15

On 15th August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will invite the entire Indian Olympics contingent to the Red Fort as special guests. He will also personally meet and interact with all of them around that time, news agency ANI reported.

A total of 126 athletes across 18 sports disciplines from India headed to participate in Tokyo Olympics 2020. The nation has sent its biggest-ever contingent to any Olympics. Also, 69 cumulative events across 18 sport disciplines that India will participate in is also the highest ever for the country.

Modi has been regularly offering words of encouragement to the team and has also spoken to many of them.

“Remember, they’ve achieved this feat while dealing with the biggest disaster in 100 years. There are many games for which we have qualified the first time, and not just qualify… they’ve given a tough fight,” he said on Tuesday.
