PM Modi observes 'Bharat Shakti' military exercise, highlighting India's defence prowess with international delegates

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Pokhran to witness the “Bharat Shakti” exercise, showcasing India’s indigenous defence capabilities. The event, held at the Pokhran field firing range in Jaisalmer, attracted delegates from over 30 countries. PM Modi expressed his emotional connection to Pokhran, highlighting its significance for all Indians.

Demonstrating Indigenous Defence Capabilities

The Bharat Shakti exercise displayed the firepower prowess of indigenous weapons and the operational readiness of India’s defence forces. It simulated realistic, multi-domain operations, showcasing integrated capabilities across land, air, sea, cyber, and space domains.

Key Equipment and Weapons Systems

Various indigenous weapon systems and platforms were on display, demonstrating India’s self-reliance in defence. Participating equipment included T-90 (IM) Tanks, Dhanush and Sarang Gun Systems, Akash Weapons Systems, Logistics Drones, Robotic Mules, Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), unmanned aerial vehicles, Naval Anti-Ship Missiles, Autonomous Cargo Carrying Aerial Vehicles, Expendable Aerial Targets, Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, and Light Utility Helicopters.

Indian Armed Forces Display

The Indian Army showcased advanced ground warfare and aerial surveillance capabilities. The Indian Navy highlighted maritime strength and technological sophistication, while the Indian Air Force demonstrated air superiority and versatility in air operations.

Promoting Aatmanirbharta in Defence

“Bharat Shakti” underscores India’s readiness to confront contemporary and future challenges with indigenous solutions. It exemplifies the nation’s progress towards self-reliance in defence, showcasing the strength and innovation of India’s domestic defence capabilities.
