Additionally, the President posed for pictures with the kids of the tea garden employees.
In addition to launching a number of projects virtually from the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan, where she will remotely inaugurate seven projects, including a few roads, a few schools, and student hostels, President Murmu is scheduled to dedicate a new MLA hostel at the New Capital Complex in this city this afternoon.
Later this evening, the Chief Minister, Mayor Dipak Majumder, and other dignitaries will host a civic event for the President at the Agartala Town Hall.
At the Badharghat Railway Station on Thursday morning, President Murmu is set to officially open two passenger trains, including an extension of the Guwahati-Kolkata Express to Agartala and the Agartala-Jiribam-Agartala Janshatabdi Express to Thangsang in Manipur.
After the railway's opening, she would also visit the Tripurasundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district, and would depart Agartala for Assam at 11:30 am.
The President's visit to Tripura was warmly welcomed by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
It's a source of pride that a President has visited my constituency, Bamutia, for the first time ever, BJP MLA Krishnadhan Nath said in a statement to media following President Murmu's visit to the tea garden. She has inquired in their languages about whether the Munda and Santhal tea garden employees receive housing, food rations, and other facilities.
The legislator added that the President requested the families of the tea garden workers to prevent child marriages and to encourage their kids to pursue education and other goals in life.

In the meantime, the President's visit is announced to be boycotted by the opposition CPI (M).
For President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Tripura on October 12, a variety of events, including a civic reception, were planned. The gathering was open to MLAs, former MPs, and the state secretary of CPIM. The CPI (M) state secretary, Jitendra Chaudhury, stated in a press release yesterday night, "The CPIM state secretariat welcomes the Presidential visit but has chosen to forgo joining the event.
In support of its argument that there is no rule of law in Tripura, the statement cited attacks on Left Party members throughout the state during the BJP's four and a half years in power.
"In Tripura, violations of civic and personal freedoms are constant. Because of how bad things are, we are unable to pay our dead friends any respects or flowers, Chaudhury remarked.
According to him, the CPI (M) hopes that President Murmu will visit Tripura to see the situation there and take action to restore the state's inhabitants' rights.
West Tripura Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath had earlier in the day stated that there would be some limitations put in place for the required security measures for the Presidential visit.
