NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu is set to become India's next President after securing a one-sided victory against Yashwant Sinha on Thursday.

With votes clearly stacked in Murmu’s favour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated President-elect and said that she has emerged as a ray of hope for our citizens, especially the poor, marginalised and the downtrodden.

Ever since her mega win, wishes are pour in on from all political spectrum.

"India scripts history. At a time when 1.3 billion Indians are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a daughter of India hailing from a tribal community born in a remote part of eastern India has been elected our President!" PM Modi said.
