Mohalla clinics: Punjab’s finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema and his health counterpart Dr Balbir Singh chaired a press conference on Monday. Stating a string of new policies that the state government aims to implement, they also announced that AAP chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate 400 aam aadmi clinics (AACs) across Punjab on January 27.
Arvind Kejriwal to inaugurate 400 AACs
Finance Minister Harpal Singh and his health counterpart Dr Balbir Singh on Monday stated that Kejriwal along with chief minister Bhagwant Mann will inaugurate 400 AACs across the state. Of the 400, 318 wll be set up in rural areas, the health minister stated. With the latest addition, the state will have a total of 500 AACs , as 100 such clinics are already functional in the state. He said that the clinics are dedicated to the people of Punjab “to pave the way for a health revolution in the state”.
CM Mann inaugurated mohalla clinics on 75th Independence Day
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on August 15, 2022 dedicated 75 'Aam Aadmi Clinics' to the people of the state on the completion of 75 years of India's independence. Unfurling the national flag during the function held at Guru Nanak Stadium, CM Mann said that these mohalla clinics would do about 100 types of tests free of cost apart from giving free medicines to the patients.
So far, the mohalla clinics have benefitted around 10 lakh people, the health minister said.
