Punjab extends its Covid ban till July 10

Amidst concerns about the new variant Delta Plus of Coronavirus, Punjab has decided to extend its Covid ban till July 10. It is worth noting that there are more than 3600 active cases of Corona in Punjab at present. So far 5,95,136 cases of corona have been reported in the state, while about 16 thousand people have died due to corona infection. In this, the maximum number of cases have been recorded in Maharashtra (20). 9 cases of this variant have been found in Tamil Nadu and 7 in Madhya Pradesh, while in Kerala this number is three.

According to media reports, certain more relaxations, including opening of bars, pubs and ahatas at 50% capacity, beginning July 1. Skill development centres and universities have also been allowed to open conditional to the staff and students having taken at least one dose of vaccine. IELTS coaching institutes were already allowed to be opened, subject to students and staff having taken at least one dose of vaccine.

Experts believe that this variant can cause the third wave of corona. The Center has given important instructions by writing a letter to eight states regarding the Delta plus variant. This letter has been written by the Central Government to Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, in which these states have been asked to take immediate preventive measures in districts and clusters.
