Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is gearing up for his ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra,’ a strategic move ahead of the upcoming national elections. Spanning 6,200 km from Manipur to Mumbai, this yatra aims to connect the northeastern and western parts of the country. Commencing on January 14 and concluding on March 20, the yatra echoes the success of his previous ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and holds significance for the Congress party’s electoral strategies.

Purpose and Scope

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’ will cover 14 states and 85 districts, providing extensive access to the people. The yatra is viewed as a crucial initiative to connect with voters across Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Mode of Travel

The yatra will encompass both bus rides and foot marches, facilitating maximum outreach. The strategic combination aims to connect with diverse demographics and engage with citizens on the ground.

Electoral Significance

This yatra follows the success of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra‘ last year, credited by the party for election victories in Karnataka and Telangana. The Congress party’s electoral gains in these states were attributed to the extensive footmarch and the active participation of Congress workers and opposition leaders.
